The aphid fauna of junipers includes at least 19 species of Cinara, several of which are known only from their original descriptions. An attempt is made to discriminate these species in the key below, but for some of the species in the genus Cinara s. str. insufficient samples are available to estimate the range of seasonal variation, so determinations should be treated warily, especially in the case of species marked *, specimens of which have not been seen by the authors.
